Benefits
Weight Gain has limited amounts of fermentable materials such as starch and related products that can produce dangerous levels of lactic acid in both the stomach and large intestine. As most of the energy in Weight Gain comes from its highly digestible lipid (fat) content, protein and fermentation of fibre in the large intestine, adding Weight Gain to a feed, supplements the total energy in the ration in a palatable, safe, natural way.
Who uses Weight Gain?
horse lovers wanting to build or maintain body condition without the effect that grain-based feeds have on their horse's health and behaviour. those wanting a natural palatable supplement to boost rations used when feeding or agisting on natural pasture horse owners preparing for showing or sale who want a relaxed horse, displaying good and sound body conformation.
How to use Weight Gain
For a gain in body condition or to maintain good body condition, supplement your horse feed as follows:
- For horses less than 400kg - mix 250 grams of Weight Gain (1/4 kg) thoroughly into an established ration and increase this over 14 days to 500 grams (1/2 kg).
- For horses over 400kg - mix 500 grams of Weight Gain thoroughly into an established ration and increase this over 14 days to 1 kg.
Results will be best when your horse's teeth are in good condition and when your horse is wormed regularly and receiving adequate exercise.
