No Grain Blue
No-Grain Blue blends natural sunflower products with vegetable proteins, vitamins and minerals. When mixed 50:50 with lucerne chaff, No-Grain blue provides a complete horse feed that replaces grain in a horse's ration. Horses love the taste and texture of No-Grain Blue because it is a natural unprocessed high fibre feed, that is just like very palatable pasture.
What will you notice when you use No-Grain Blue?

No-Grain Blue has only a small quantity of fermentable carbohydrates such as starch and related products, which can produce dangerous levels of lactic acid in both the stomach and large intestine and lead to tying up, founder, stomach ulcers and poor behaviour. No-Grain Blue's energy content comes from the digestion of protein and lipid (fat) in the small intestine and from the natural fermentation of fibre in the hind gut.
Furthermore, as horses must spend more time chewing this feed, it helps to occupy their day and alleviate boredom. They mix more saliva with No-Grain Blue, therefore experiencing a more natural way of eating.

How to use No-Grain Blue
If your horse is prone to founder, tying up, stomach ulcers, and nervous temperament:
- For every one kilogram of grain removed from your horse's ration, add two kilograms of No-Grain Blue
- To supplement your horse at pasture or when agisted, provide one or two kilograms of No-Grain Blue once or twice a day.
- To provide a complete "no-grain" feed, mix 1 kg of No-Grain Blue with 1 kg of lucerne chaff for every 100kg of weight. Feed half in the morning and half in the evening.
