Paradise Farms buys sunflower seed from growers in Liverpool Plains and from throughout north western New South Wales and Queensland. It de-hulls the seeds and prepares the sunflower kernels for human consumption. However, you won't see Paradise Farms sunflower kernels on the supermarket shelves as the kernels go directly into customers' products. So when you eat your breakfast muesli or one of the popular breads containing sunflower, you're probably enjoying Paradise Farms sunflower kernels.
Sunflower has long been recognised as one of nature's best whole food sources of dietary fibre, the antioxidant vitamin E, folate and zinc. Recognising that what was good for humans was also good for horses, Paradise Farms set up Omega Feeds Pty Ltd to provide horse owners and carers with a range of feed supplements that are equally beneficial for horses.
The Omega Feeds range was developed by combining the high fibre found in the hull or husk of the sunflower seed, with the natural goodness of sunflower kernels and specially selected supplements. The same rigorous health and cleanliness standards applied by Paradise Farms to the production of human consumption sunflower kernel go into the preparation of Omega Feeds horse feeds.
All Omega Feeds products are developed with specific outcomes in mind. Dr David Ives BVSc BCom MS oversees our research and development program and consults on feed formulation and development. In mid 2005, Paradise Farm's primary sunflower de-hulling plant was expanded with assistance from the Australian Government's Regional Partnership program, providing the capacity to allow Omega Feeds to service the ever growing demand for its unique range of horse feeds.
